Three Day Advanced Instructor Prep Workshop
Sunday, April 11 to Tuesday April 13, 2010
This course will meet the education requirement for the NARHA Advanced Level Instructor Certification
Program and must be completed prior to Advanced On-Site Certification.
Topics covered include: equine management
horse assessment
personal riding and critiques
We will also look closely at teaching techniques specific to disabilities as well as those for able bodied
students, review of lesson planning and lesson evaluations, and correct mounting and dismounting
techniques.

Continuing Education for RTT Volunteeers
Thursday, March 25th at 5:30
Sarah will be presenting with participants riding our herd to feel the different therapy/movements throughout the herd in THE
HORSE AND HUMAN MOVEMENT on March 25th. We presented this ins-ervice last year with great
feedback from our participants on what they learned and the opportunity to feel what our riders feel during
lessons.
Sarah will discuss normal and abnormal movement, human tone and postural control , horse and tack
selection, and the use of movement in lessons in addition to hands on exercises with our horses.

RTT Ride-A-Thon
June 6th here at the farm
Sponsor a rider during our Annual Ride-A-Thon! Riders sign up for a trail ride time, then collect tax
deductable pledges. Grand prizes will be awarded to the participants with the highest pledge amounts and
the greatest number of pledges. Contact Jen for more information on how to support RTT and our riders

Animal Assisted Therapy: Benefits During and After Cancer Treatment

Becoming active and staying positive during and after cancer treatment can be a challenge. Often our fourlegged
friends can help with this. Join Sarah Bronson of Riding To The Top Therapeutic Riding Center as she discusses
the benefits of working with and riding horses.
This class will also discuss how dogs can boost the spirits of the cancer patient. Come meet the special horses
of Riding To The Top Therapeutic Riding Center as well as Daisy Doodle, a Labradoodle from Maine Children’s
Cancer Program, and see firsthand the joy these animals bring.

NARHA Interactive Vaulting Instructor Workshop and Certification
August 26-29
This comprehensive workshop offers classroom instruction and hands on experience in the basics of
Interactive Vaulting.
The purpose of the certification is to determine if a candidate possesses the professionalism, experience and
skill level to meet the NARHA Interactive Vaulting Instructor criteria.
