PATH Riding To The Top

Enhancing health and wellness through equine assisted activities and therapies

Riding To The Top offers a variety of Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies (EAAT). For all of our programs, clients are assessed and goals are established to address the needs of each individual. Our team includes PATH Intl. Certified Instructors, specially trained volunteers and our herd of exceptional horses.

Specific Programs include:
- Therapeutic Riding and Horsemanship where
  goals are integrated with specific horsemanship and riding activities;
- School Based Programs for students receiving special education services where educational goals
  are incorporated with the farm/riding experience;
- Equine Assisted Learning where the majority of the work is unmounted and focuses on development
  of important life skills such as trust, respect, communication, etc.
- Therapeutic Carriage Driving can offer students with physical, mental, sensory, or emotional disabilities the rewards of interaction and control of a horse or pony while driving from a carriage seat. Carriage driving gives participants a riding alternative, opening up the world of horses to those who may be unable to ride due to weight, balance, fatigue, allergies, asthma, fear of heights, the inability to sit astride, or other issues. It can also provide the student with a unique movement experience.

Riding To The Top has served thousands of children and adults with disabilities since 1993. While most clients come from the greater Portland area, RTT also serves clients from central and mid-coast Maine and eastern New Hampshire. Our clients range in age from 3 to 80+ and are referred by doctors, therapists, social workers, teachers, family members and friends. Read more>
